An eight day book fair campaign concluded successfully in Kashmor, Kandh Koth and Tangwani.
An eight day book fair campaign Balochistan Kitab Karwan by Baloch Students Action Committee concluded successfully in Baaloch areas Kashmor, Kandh Koth and Tangwani.
On April 30, the Baloch Students Action Committee announced book fair campaign in three different cities, Kashmore, Kandhkot, and Tangwani. From 3rd May to 5th May, book stalls were hosted in Kashmore, and the Baloch population showed a massive excitement to the book fair by visiting the stalls. The books included domains like Baloch history, science, fiction, non-fiction, Balochi magazines, politics, and more. Literature published by the BSAC were also stalled along with Balochi magazine ‘Zaamur’ was also presented at the stall, but all its copies were bought within two day of the book stall.
The second book stall was arranged in Kandhkot on 7th May and 8th May. The stall continued two days where the Baloch population wholeheartedly welcomed the stall, and by the last day, all books on Baloch history and language had been sold out. The students and youth along teachers visited the stall and chose books to read.
On the last part of campaign, the book fair reached at Tangwani which was hosted on May 10th, 11t, and 12th. However, all the remaining Balochi books, which were later ordered for the last book stall, couldn’t meet quantity demanded by the Baloch audience. The Baloch audience showed interest mainly in two domains: Baloch history and Balochi literature. They requested these book stalls should follow and such events should be arranged often.
The book fair campaign hosted by Baloch Students Action Committee under the banner of “Balochistan Kitab Karwan” in three different places. Large number of audience was seen visiting the stalls and buying books to read. It was somehow the first such event which lasted eight day where hundreds of books were sold out.
The “Balochistan Kitab Karwan” is an initiative by the Baloch Students Action Committee that started in 2020 with the aim of promoting a book culture among the Baloch nation throughout country. The book fairs are hosted on various event in different locations. On the New Year event January 1, 2024, the Baloch Students Action Committee announced the New Year book fair campaign throughout zones under the banner of “Balochistan Kitab Karwan” across Balochistan. This initiative later turned into a book movement, consisting of more than 100 book stalls in more than fifty places.
